FRAXEL LONG ISLAND

Perfect Body Laser and Aesthetics is the ONLY Solta Medical Black Diamond Award Winner in New York (for 7 years in a row) using FRAXEL DUAL Technology.

What does the NEW Fraxel re:store DUAL® laser at Perfect Body Laser and Aesthetics® do?

The FRAXEL RE:STORE™ has multiple FDA clearances for:

  • Skin resurfacing
  • Fine lines around the eyes
  • Pigmented lesions (age/sun spots)
  • Discoloration and uneven pigmentation
  • Melasma (mask of pregnancy)
  • Acne scars
  • Surgical scars
  • Actinic Keratosis
  • Stretch marks

How does the NEW, FRAXEL® DUAL laser work?

Fraxel® treatment uses patented fractional technology to target damaged skin with microscopic laser columns that penetrate deep into the skin. The laser treats only a fraction of tissue at a time, leaving the surrounding tissue intact, which promotes rapid healing. This stimulates your body’s own natural healing process, replacing the old and damaged cells with fresh, glowing, healthy skin.

How long is the treatment?

Depending on the size, location and condition of the area to be treated, Fraxel treatment can take as little as 20 minutes. However, we ask that you reserve at least 2 hours for your appointment. We ask you to arrive early to your appointment for the appropriate skin preparation (when applicable).  The session usually takes 15 to 45 minutes for a full face depending on a Clients individual factors.

How many treatments will I need and how will they be spaced?

The number to sessions you will need depends on your goals and desired outcomes as well as your lifestyle. We will work with you to weigh the aggressiveness of treatment with the downtime associated. Typically, clients receive their desired outcomes in 3 to 6 sessions.

After one session you’ll see a difference, but clinical studies suggest that on average, an effective regimen is 3 to 5 sessions spaced about 4 weeks apart. Depending on your condition and schedule, we may choose to space sessions further apart. Results are immediate and progressive, with optimal improvement usually visible in 6 months.

Who can be treated with the FRAXEL® DUAL laser?

Fraxel® lasers treat women and men of all ages and skin color. Fraxel® treatment also works on delicate skin areas like the neck, chest and hands.

What kind of results can I expect?

Your skin will feel softer, look brighter and show more even skin tone. Other benefits of treatment may include: smoother, fresher, younger-looking skin, improved tone and texture erasing of unwanted brown spots and reduced fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes.

When do the results appear, and how long do they last?

The results of treatment are both immediate and progressive. Soon after the treatment, the surface of your skin will feel softer, look brighter and show more even tone. The next 3 to 6 months will bring more improvement as the deeper layers of the skin continue to heal. Results can last for years depending on your age and skin condition.

Does FRAXEL® DUAL hurt?

Most patients describe an increased sensation of heat during the treatment. The topical anesthesia minimizes discomfort and then cold air is used on the treatment area during the session. After the session, most clients feel like they have a sunburn, which usually diminishes in 1 to 3 hours.

What should I expect after having the FRAXEL® DUAL treatment?

During the first 24 hours after treatment, your skin may feel as though it is sunburned, and it will appear pink or red. You can wear makeup to reduce the sunburned appearance. Your skin may bronze and peel over the next few days or two, depending on the depth of treatment.

What side effects can I expect after the treatment and how long will they last?

Swelling and redness are the most common side effects from Fraxel® DUAL treatment. Any swelling is typically minimal and subsides within a day or two and any redness typically fades within a few days. Other temporary side effects may include minor itching, dry skin, peeling or flaking, and a bronzed skin appearance. There is a limited risk of infection, hyperpigmentation or scarring. The intensity and duration of side effects depend on the aggressiveness of treatment and on your particular healing characteristics. Fraxel® treatment can be tailored to your desired outcome. We’ll work with you to determine the best option to fit your lifestyle.

In some cases, Fraxel DUAL® isn’t a good fit. For these Clients, Perfect Body Laser and Aesthetics offers an abundence of alternative choices.
